Making the Album - 4

Image
This time I applied a logo and a barcode to my album. With my logo being made I had to find a way to apply a barcode to the album so I copied the barcode above with google images. As a sort of 'Easter egg' I used a barcode for oreos. I applied it to the back cover at the bottom corner of the polaroid. For my logo there was a problem with the white background that the image comes with, I first had to use a magic eraser to delete all the white and then I applied it to the rims of the album where I rotated the logo so the its facing the same side as the text its next to. I also applied it above my barcode but as the black dosen't stand out in the area its in I had to turn it white by using a paint bucket. I also applied a copyright claim on the back as well for authenticity.

Evaluation Plan

In preparation for filming our evaluation we made a plan for all the ideas, locations and technology we needed to film each question, they all needed to be different with each question being answered in a unique style.

Making the Album - 3

For several lessons I have had a problem with my original front cover photo mainly because of issues with font and how to apply it in the way I originally wanted to. So luckily I found a photo I took of Niah looking at a Kings Cross sign and altered it so that the sign would state "Bets on You Niah". This was ideal as the sign looked fairly two dimensional in the photo which meant that I didn't need to alter the lettering in order for it to look like its on the wall. It took a lot of time trying to rub out the Kings Cross sign as I found that the shade of brown surrounding the sign changing ever so slightly which meant that colouring over it with one shade looked too obvious. Instead I copied sections of brown that was on both sides of the sign and used that to cover over it, of course I had to apply a bit of the brush so it would blend but luckily it looked authentic. After that I placed my text over it, I used two text boxes as i wanted the title of the album and my a...

Making the Album - Layering issue

Image
During my use of photoshop i found that there are many problems with layering all the items. I didn't realise that I had to create new layers for each different item or else whatever item you put in the same layer acts as one. So for example putting two pictures in the same layer will ultimately mean that if by any chance you want to move or delete a picture it will affect them both. In the end, I learnt how to manually create new layers and delete a part of a layer with the square tool. This also meant deleting some layers completely to redo them. Luckily this got resolved in less than one lesson and I gained some insight on how to use photoshop.

Making the Album - 2

Now that I have taken most of the photos I need for the album, I've applied them all apart from the from cover as I need to edit that photo with a bit more focus. With these pictures that I have applied it mainly consist of tampering with the photos in the sense of altering the saturation, highlighting the black and whites and the contrast.

Photoshoot - Kings Cross

Image
Today my group and i finally started shooting photos for our albums and websites. We shot in Kings Cross at around late afternoon as we are try to catch the sun before it goes down. Unluckily we didn't have Niah to shoot our photos due to scheduling problems, instead we use another girl who at first glance looks fairly similar to Niah but to combat people spotting the difference so quickly i only shot from behind or far enough so that you can't identify her. We shot by the canal, swings and the station finding any shot we can think of using our Canon 7D cameras. Hopefully these i can apply these photos nicely to my digipak.

Photo-shoot resolution

My group are happy to announce a date in which we can finally do the photo-shoot. We will be shooting at Kings cross again on the 8th March. However we decided no to use Niah but to use someone who we knew who looked very much like Niah. This means that we have to shoot in angles where her face isn't visible and in locations that catches more of your location, luckily Kings Cross is the right place to do this as there are lots of nice places to shoot in that are scattered all around.

Photo-shoot problem

For our digipack we need Niah to return so that we can take photos of her for our website and album (For me only website). However booking her is harder than expected, since only one person in my group knows her (hence has her number) we had to rely on him to contact her. Also since she is my age she has school work of her own and other activities so finding dates where she can come is difficult as this photo shoot could take the whole day and maybe longer. If we used a girl from our school we wouldn't be having this problem but hopefully we can reach a date that is soon to meet up.
