Creating the website - Day 2

Image
For the second day making the website I finally completed it. Since I now have my photos I was able to apply it to all pages of my website. I also added my music video and the audio to my music video so that anyone who wants to either look at the video or simply listen to it, they can. The only problem was with the tour option as I spent a long time trying to figure out how to apply venues for the tour but it ended up doing nothing at all. Link to the website will be coming soon.

Filming Evaluation - Day 4 (Various Locations)

Image
For our our final question "What have you learned from your audience feedback?" we shot in various locations around the school and scheduled people who are Primary, Secondary and Tertiary listeners to our music video to answer the question themselves. They were all, shown the music video before hand and then given question to answer relating to the video's faults and what they liked about it. The Primary audience (boy and girl above) where shot with a handheld camera as opposed to the other two which where done using a tripod. We asked them the same questions and luckily none of them gave a response that was too similar to the others. Now that all question are filmed it's time to move to the next stage which is editing them.

Filming Evaluation - Day 3 (Music room)

Image
For the third day of filming our evaluation we covered the question "How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?". We answered this by showcasing the technology used throughout filming the music video such as all the cameras, tripods and the gimble. We put together everything showing how it works but we didn't use any dialogue for it as it will be applied through a voice-over which will be done once we start editing. Again due to constraint on rooms we could only use another music room instead of the Phoenix theatre. Now that this is done we only have one more to go.

Creating the website - Day 1

Image
For the first day of creating my website I picked my template and added links for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. I also tried to do most of the writing like her 'about' page which is describing who she is. Since I don't have any pictures just yet I can't go any further than that. This gave me a chance to get introduced to Wix as this is my first time using the program. I played around with the tools finding out how to do several things like how to apply picture for when I will eventually do so.

Digi-pack album inspiration

Image
The design I created for the digi-pack revolved around Polaroid photos, this idea was inspired by Taylor Swifts '1989' album. Although the genre of Niah's music is very much different from the music that Taylor Swift does, Polaroid photos are something that is very Urban and if you alter this slightly so that the polaroids are not centred on just the artist but rather places or items you get a different vibe entirely which is what i'm doing. I was also inspired by the font as well as the felt tip writing gives this homemade/personal feeling to it which in my mind is what I picture my artist doing.

Music video - Denoising

Image
Whilst editing my Music video, my group found that there are some clips in our timeline that we found to be fairly grainy. This is due to our camera equipment not being as great as we wanted but we had to find a way around this as it looks unprofessional. We installed several denoising programs into final cut to combat this issue. Most of them had a tag that when you placed the program into a clip, the name of the programme would appear on the screen so we luckily made an account for a denoiser which you have to pay but grants a free trial before you do. This in the end gave us a huge step for the music video to look sleeker.

Filming Evaluation - Day 2 (Geography Room)

Image
For the second day of filming our evaluation we decided to answer the question "How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?". We couldn't get the room we wanted so decided to find a spare geography room at my school. The idea for this question was to answer it as if in a conversation with one another talking about our digipacks in relation to our music video. We used a camcorder and a tripod and placed it on a table in front of us to reach the height we wanted as the tripod was rather small. We didn't use a script for this question as we felt it would be authentic if we talked about it from the top of our heads. with the second question done we have two ore days to complete the other two questions left.

Filming Evaluation - Day 1 (Music room)

Image
For the first day of filming our evaluation we covered the question "in what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge the forms and conventions of a real media product." we shot this in the music room where we had previously used for our music video. we shot this in an interview style where I, the presenter, interviews Mo who talks about the video, Josh our third member of the group was behind the camera. We only had one camera to shoot this with so we angled it far enough so that we can get both of us in the shot instead of cutting back and fourth to each face as they are talking like some interviews do since we didn't have a lot of time to do so. We also intentionally set it up so that in the background you can see some of the items we used in the video. After many takes we finally were able to film what we wanted to say and as soon as we film the other three questions we can start editing it all together.
