Today we were meant to film at King Cross when we came across a few complications. The first problem was one our our equipment was malfunctioning, the gymbal which is a piece of equipment that balances the camera when your moving was tampered with through its settings fro the last person to use it so it wasn't working how we wanted it to work. Also when we were taking all our equipment we forgot the screw that fixes the camera onto the tripod or the gymbal. One of my teammates parents was able to bring one from their own home but we ultimately decided it wasn't worth getting so we packed up and went back home. We decided to do this again on the 5th  November when we are better prepared and well equipped so this doesn't happen again.  

  On our first day of shooting the music video we shot at my school. We booked this room called the black box which is painted all black making the room completely black when all the doors are closed. My group arrived an hour earlier than our actress to give time to set up all the cameras and it was well needed. We had a small problem with the camera as it wasn't auto focusing properly as it should. luckily the shot we needed today didn't involve a lot of movement so we manually focus it as well as the few times the focusing was working. Also there was small problem with lighting, the black box has stage lights situated all over the ceiling and since it was our first time operating the lighting and we couldn't figure it out. We had to call in maintenance to show us. He showed where all the switches were for the lights as well as the dashboard which gave us the opportunity to change the brightness of each light as well as changing how warm the shade of each ligh...

In preparation for filming me and may group have prepared and planned our filming dates: On the 28th of October we have booked a room in my school called the black box, we had to book through my schools estates team to see if anyone else has taken it before us. this room completely is painted completely black and could be useful with all the spotlights placed on the ceiling. On the 29th of October we have organised to film at Kings Cross. We didn't need to book but rather organise how we are going to transfer the equipment needed there. Later on we will need to book a room in my school called the Phoenix Theater. We are still trying to find a suitable booking date and we also need a crowd as we are planning to transform it into a club scene.

Today we found a new actress to replace Mia for our music video. Luckily one of my teammates for the video has a friend that agreed to act for us, her name is Naya. Since there is not much time I am going to have to meet her on the day of our first shooting for the music video..

Today my group had a big problem involving our actress for the music video. Our main choice Mia just told us that she doesn't want to do the video anymore. Of course this was a big problem as it was very unexpected and so close to our filming date. We need to find a replacement actress on a very short notice or else we can't film at all.

Our demographic for this song is mainly aimed at people aged in their late teens/ early adulthood. We believe this song is more appropriate to their  thoughts and problems, for example the song emphasises on her worries of letting her parents down whilst she's “sippin henny” which can really be a description of the artist life nowadays or in the not so distant past. Anyone too young won't understand most of the references and anyone to old might not relate.

Today we were working on our presentation on our treatment of the music video. There was a problem with our vision between how the video should look, one person in my group pictured a narrative in the video that didn't relate to the video in which the problem we found was that it was a little bit generic. My idea and my other teammates' are similar. Hopefully after a bit of consultation, we come up with something we can all agree on

In preparation for filming our music video we need to create a storyboard to give a general direction for what we are going to shoot and in what location, I was charged to draw it with consultation from my group as well. this consist of drawing every single shot we're planning on doing in order of how the music video goes with details of the shot and the verse of the song that is sung when this specific part is being played. Luckily we found an actress to appear in our music video and very early in the process. We asked her in person as she goes to our school and luckily does drama. This means that she is very easy to contact and will most likely give a good performance in our video. Here is a photo of her:

For one of our preparations before we can start filming we need a timeline of the songs main structure from when it starts till when its ends. In this I listened through the whole song and found when each verse starts and ends as well as all the chorus'.  Below is the one that was hand drawn by me: This one is the same timeline but made on a computer to look neater:

My group have found an actress to play in our music video as the lead singer. Luckily she is one of our classmates who does drama so is easy to contact and talk to about the official dates to when we will be filming and where.

In my group today we decided which song we are going to do for our coursework. We decided not to do my song choice "Daft Pretty Boys" but rather the other option which was "Vice City". We  decided via our third group member who put down his choice to decide. Here's a video of the song below: We will start working on everything we need to do to prepare ourselves for filming now we have our song.
